Scheduling is kept at a minimum, but there is a definite plan. Children learn there are rules for the safety of one's self as well as others. They may express themselves in a variety of media, the use of art forms is vital to the development of young children. In this freedom they find satisfaction. Penryn Oaks Preschool offers a responsive environment where children learn by doing.

6:00 a.m. Arrival Inspection (Child hangs up wraps, teacher checks for signs of illness while parent waits.)
AIM: to help Maintain good health and protect all children from infection through group contact
Free Play (Child joins in group play in front room free use of blocks, toys, playhouse, table games and puzzeles Outside, weather permitting.

AIM: to give opportunity for large muscle activity (Youngest toileted On the Hour throughout the day except during nap).

8:00 am Clean-up, put away toys. Divide by age for next activity.
AIM: to develop responsibility by helping to put away toys.

9:00 am All children gather for stories, poems, finger play, sharing - talk time. Children sing, play rythym instruments, interpret music in activity, dance, listening to music of other cultures.
to develop communication skills; music appreciation; rhythm : self expression.

9:55 am Toileting of all children, and hand-washing.
AIM: to help establish regularity in care of physical needs.

10:00 am Juice Time.
AIM: to help them appreciate a social eating experience.

10:15 am Outdoor-indoor use of materials, toys equipment, depencing on weather. When it rains play will be indoors.
AIM: to help children learn to play harmoniousily with others, to share willingly and take turns; but most of all - to enjoy group social activities.

11:00 am Creative materials introduced: clay, easels, finger - paints, chalk and wet paper, collage, craft projects, learning center.
AIM : to help develop artistic sensibilities and give wide experiance with various media for expression. Learning center is a responsive environment where children are learning concepts that carry into the future.

11:45 am Put away everything. (Everyone works to put things away.) General wash-up. Teachers assist only as necessary.
AIM: to help in appreciation of a family eating situation, and give some help in good table behavior. All half-day students must be picked up at noon or there will be an additional charge.

12:30 pm Toileting e;ain. Children remove shoes and place in designate place, goes to own bed.

1:00 PM NAP or rest. Teacher helps restless ones get settled.
AIM: to help them learn to care for their own need.

3:00 pm Gentle waking, toileting, self-help dressing as much as possible.
AIM: to help them learn to care for their own needs.

3:20 pm Snack time.

3:30 pm Outdoor, or indoor play, depending on weather. (or when the wind gets to cold.)

5:00 pm Quieter activities.
AIM: to help relax children to prepare them for going home.

6:00 pm Closing time. After closing time there will be a charge of $1 per every 1 mm. per child.

Throughout the year there will be regularly scheduled trips or walks to places of special interest to children. The program will be flexible enough to allow for many experiences and varied interests.
Penryn Oaks provides opportunities for young children to grow physically, mentally, emotionally and socially.


Parents are required to bring diapers, wipes, formula, two sheets and a small blanket for nap time. Sheets & blankets are required to be laundered weekly by the parents. 

Full day rates include lunch and two snacks per day; morning and afternoon. Half days are defined at 6:30 am. to 12:30 p.m. or 12:30 p.m. - to 6:00 p.m. and includes lunch and snack.

Families with more than one child enrolled at Penryn Oaks may receive a discount for each additional child after tuition has been paid at the regular full-time rate for the youngest child. Discounted tuition is determined by the payment plan selected.

Tuition payments are due and payable the first day of the above weekly tuition plan. Tuition is considered delinquent at 12:00 noon the following day. A late charge of $10 will be assessed at that time. An additional $20.00 charge will be assessed every 5 working days until tuition is paid in full. If tuition has not been paid within 2 weeks after due date attendance at Penryn Oaks will no longer be permitted until tuition is paid in full.

Tuition is continuous throughout the year and secures your child's spot at Penryn Oaks. There are no deductions for absences, illness, or the 10 holidays which are observed throughout the year. Each child is entitled to two free weeks of vacation each year that he/she is enrolled. Two weeks notice is required in writing, before vacation credit is granted.

*Penryn Oaks is open from 6:00 am to 6:00 p.m. weekdays except holi days. A fee of $1 per each 1 minute will be assessed for children picked up after 6:00 p.m.

Parents are required to give Penryn Oaks a one month notice in writing prior to withdrawing their children.

Penryn Oaks reserves the right to suspend or dismiss children for unsatisfactory behavior or for educational or medical problems for which the school does not have the expertise in assisting a child.

Penryn Oaks tuition is usually not increased for several years and then only slightly. However, should economic factors beyond our control dictate an increase in fees we will give all parents 30 days notice.
